Closest ideologies
- Christian DemocracyApplies Christian values to politics: a market economy with a strong welfare state, an emphasis on family and community, and a socially conservative outlook.
- CentrismAvoids committing to the left or the right. Centrists judge policies case by case, look for compromise and are wary of radical change in any direction.
- Moderate ConservatismValues stability, institutions and gradual change. Accepts much of the modern welfare state and social reform, but prefers caution to upheaval.
- Democratic SocialismWants to replace much of capitalism with social ownership, but only through elections, a free press and democratic institutions, never through revolution or a one-party state.
